The relationship between Emilia Clarke’s Daenerys Targaryen and Jason Momoa’s Khal Drogo is one of the most important aspects of the initial season of Game of Thrones. 

Even though it started quite rough, Daenerys Targaryen didn’t take long to bond with him and soon fall in love. Interestingly, this story also kicked off Got’s controversial trend of using sexual violence.

While these types of scenes are very probable of making any star uncomfortable, Clarke spoke out about how the Aquaman actor pulled off a hilarious stunt that shocked her on the set.

Appearing in The Graham Norton Show, Emilia Clarke spoke up about one of the most popular intimate scenes from the show. The Me Before You actress revealed how Jason Momoa did a hilarious stunt to lighten the mood of one of the most disturbing scenes.

The relationship between Khal Drogo and Daenerys Targaryen despite being very short played a significant role. Only after the death of the Khal, did the Mother of the Dragon see a drastic transformation in her character.

The bond between the monstrous Dothraki with Daenerys Targaryen might have looked odd to some audiences at first. On top of that, that there were also disturbing aspects of sexual assault during the initial phases before Dany started loving Drogo. But according to the 34-year-old actress, Momoa is exactly the opposite off-screen.

Emilia Clarke revealed that the Justice League actor was always kind and wanted to make things easy for her. He always kept sure that she doesn’t feel uncomfortable in any place. Surprisingly, Jason Momoa also pulled off silly pranks to lighten the serious mood on the set. Emila Clarke spoke about how Jason Momoa is incredibly funny as a human. She opened up about how he chose a pink fluffy sock instead of a modesty sock during the intimate scene between the two in the Season 1 of the show.

“There was the lovely, uh, the lovely ra*e scene…so obviously, there’s nudity and you kind of have to try to lighten the mood. So he decided to not use a modesty sock but use a beautiful pink, fluffy sock. So getting that close-up from me looking petrified, just like ‘I didn’t want it to happen, It’s huge and it’s big and i don’t know what to do!’” 

Clarke laughed harder about how she was shocked by that stunt. On the other hand, even the Aquaman fame took to several interviews to speak up more about this incident.

What did Jason Momoa say about that scene?Khal Drogo

Jason Momoa revealed in an interview that he wanted to make Emilia Clarke laugh instead of making the situation more uncomfortable for her.

“I was like, ‘I’m the only f–ker in here naked! I don’t see anything more appropriate than me having a good time. I mean, this is awkward. Just let me make her laugh and I’ll try to get through this.’”

This also corroborates several statements of the Secret Invasion actress who has always shown her respect and admiration for Momoa’s extremely caring personality. She also praised him to be a very “beautiful” human.

Presently, Game of Thrones has ushered into a new era with The House of the Dragon which opened up to humongous praise from all around. It is reported that HBO is making more spin-offs to explore various unexplored passages of the George R.R. Martin fantasy.
